Signing Out for a While x-post
Just a cross post from the main site.
Hey, I don't think anyone actually reads this but none the less I am going to update this news post, purely for the fact that potential employers may stumble across this.
I will no longer be updating this site until possible June 2012, my reasoning for this is I have no time to update the site or work on my own personal projects. I set the site back up after it had been hacked and brought down by my host just before starting University. My intentions was to use the website to help log and show off work that I am currently doing. Unfortunately the University work that I am currently doing has taken up a lot more time than I had imagined alongside some personal issues. So without leaving the website inactive and not announcing it I thought I should just say that I am not gone, just away until I have finished my final year as this is my primary focus. Once I am finished with University and I have my degree I will be using this website as a personal blog, showing my current projects that I will be working on as well as hosting my portfolio for potential employers.
Mark,
Logging out.

Project Update
Just a small update to let you know that we are still here working on the engine and not procrastinating anymore!
I'm currently working on writing up the documentation for the engine describing all the classes and functions within the project, there is a lot to do and its only about 10% complete but it is a lot of writing which is boring and tedious but it has to be done. Mathy is working on getting the networking faster and more simple to use but it has the ability to do a lot of complex tasks and should be able to handle most networking for different types of games with a bunch of different settings. As soon as the documenting is done which I'm sure will be by the end of next week I will be going on to fix up the screen manager and add a couple of GUI objects such as buttons, text boxes, scroll bars etc. Once that's done it's on to the other managers and then a tech demo.
ToDo:
-Spyke

Back Again!
After a very short 18months the site is back up, I should probably explain. The site got hacked 18 months ago and caused all the databases to get corrupt and everything got lost even after restoring the back ups from the host and my own back ups the SQL tables were severely damaged and it would have taken forever to manually repair them. The site was then left because I had no need for it at the time and I never paid the host for my annual subscription so it got ripped down. I have paid to get the site back up and running but am still having a lot of trouble with the main sites database tables and that's why it looks so incomplete. I also lost all of my portfolio and have had to start again because I noticed that there was a job available at Bungie which would be my dream so I've had to try my best to piece together what I can... atm it's only one project :/ I am going on a plane in 7 hours to sunny Spain and have no time to add the rest till I get back so it will have to do. Any way enough blabbering on, it's back up and I'm sort of happy about that, I just wish I could get the rest sorted before I go.

First News Post
Hey all, and welcome to the new sub site for the new project! Hopefully this one will be a lot more informative and keep you up to date more frequently, at least biweekly updates, try to go for weekly if we can squeeze it in!
So far the game is still partially in it`s development stage, just getting some of the game engines design fixed up before we begin to implement it onto our skeleton, so far we have made a good start on the networking engine and are going to scrap our old 3D rendering engine and start from scratch creating a new more efficient one. We have not started the design of our sound engine or physics engine but that will get done asap. We have to produce weekly updates to our lecturers, we hope to aim high and complete a lot more than is asked from us each week. That`s about where we are at the moment!
On a partial side note, we are very much interested in some 3D modelers for levels, vehicles and other stuff, also require some graphics artists for the same stuff, possibly some site graphics and game screens/ui etc. if you think that you could fit this role and are looking to add something substantial to you portfolio please E-Mail me at spyke@cngames.co.uk.
